Prittlewell Lily blooming generous for A & E department

It is easy to use and quickly provides physicians and nursing staff with accurate results to improve diagnosis and management of bladder disorders.  As well as being pain free, this type of equipment can avoid the need for some patients to be catheterised.

Prittlewell Lily, with Moira and Mick Doxford at the helm, has raised money to provide medical equipment to Southend University Hospital for more than 25 years.  The charity ran a shop in London Road, Leigh for five years for the benefit of the hospital and although they closed their doors in 2005 the avid fundraisers are still helping. These days they raise money from table sales, coffee mornings and garden sales selling items donated by their supporters.

Receiving the new equipment, A & E sister Janie Keetch said: “We are delighted to have our own bladder scanner in the department and would like to thank Prittlewell Lily and all their supporters for making this possible.”
