SLUGS Singing and dancing for charity

The two-course feast of entertainment started with country music from the Dreamweavers followed by a belly dancing demonstration by the Karima dance troupe. As ongoing supporters of the hospital, all singers and dancers gave their time free of charge, raising £466 for Southend Leukaemia Unit Group Supporters, affectionately known as SLUGS.

To date, the group has raised £95,000 to provide additional medical equipment and patient comforts.  Committee member Marjorie Hockley said: “On behalf of SLUGS, I would like to thank the Dreamweavers and Karima dance troupe for their continued support and our thanks also to Pugzies Kiosk for supplying the electricity we needed.”
